Maybe it's just me but i never understand how animated movies like that do boatloads of $$$. is it the kids that force their parents to go see those movies or something? because i don't know about everyone else but when i was a kid (say about 12-ish and younger) i liked animated things like Looney Toons etc but one i got into my teens or so that stuff lost it's appeal. with that said, i don't think animated movies suck, as Toy Story etc is watchable, but they just never (or rarely(i say rarely because Death Note (2006-2007) anime is the only exception for me)) have any re-watch appeal and that's where movies are ultimately made or broke. basically i generally avoid animated movies because they are pretty safe bets not to have any re-watch appeal for me.
