I give it an 8 very good but not as the reviews say it was. 6 - It was good, but really there is nothing special going on here. All the acting is great, Gadot doesn't really do all that much, but she fits the part, and I do love her. All the set up was really good and there's really nothing wrong all the way through to where she confronts Ludendorff, but at the same time, it's honestly pretty dry. She's looking Ares. Then she's still looking for Ares. She doesn't really have a good basis for doing this, it's just all on a hunch. Then she's still looking for Ares. There's no clues or anything, she's just hoping she runs into him. Then she's still looking. Then OH SHE FINDS HIM, but nope that's not really him, so she gives up. I mean seriously, nothing happened. But it was still a well put together movie, but after that it felt like they never knew how it was going to end. Suddenly Ares gives himself up, is basically magneto, and they have a pretty unconvincing CGI battle. I get that the sword was not the god killer, but she was, and I like that idea, but why/how was she the god killer? She doesn't even beat him with her own power, he gives her the power she beats him with. WTF? I mean really, what was the ending supposed to say about her character or the plot? She just sort of randomly wins, because movie. IDK. All in all, it was a decent watch, but I really don't see any rewatch value and the ending was really not a good showcase of talented writing. One of the more overrated films, and I think it gets a little more credit than it really earns based on a few factors including fans wanting to have a reason to praise DC films, and general audiences wanting to praise a strong female action movie. And I get that. But this film is not the premier example of comicbook films.
