OMG, OMG. This is on my Top 10 movies. Such a sense of time & place, that is rarely seen in a movie. The actors look like they just stepped out of a high school yearbook from 1962. A true modern classic. Impossible to know why anything stands the test of time, this does.
I can hardly pick a sequence I like best. The whole John, the king of the cruise, aged out of his mileu. Curt's wild time with the gang. Terry's night of everything going wrong. So perfect. I don't have a least favorite part.
Underrated, at least when it came out in 1973. It was nominated for Best Picture but beaten by The Sting.
