I have the Anobile book on Casablanca.
No memory of the check writing scene so more info needed please.
I shall look it up and get back to you, asap, stat... well as fast as I can anyhoo!

OK Dokey then ....
Of course I started at the back of the book BUT way up on page 31 there is a nice close up of an IOU type slip dated
"2 Decembre '41 "

Did a Google Image search and no screenshot (yet).
Innumerable viewings and never noticed that date ! or this guy
