You still have to be taught by someone to learn how to fight properly. So my statement still stands. Everyone is inspired by someone else. Its not a matter of politics. Its a matter of knowing how people learn and function. Bruce Wayne could only become Batman if he studied under someone to learn the necessary skills. Sorry that your Alpha Male ideology doesn't allow for young people to learn from their elders. That is trivial. He could learn to fight from any number of sources without it being a mentor or father surrogate. Just because Zorro learned fencing somewhere, doesnt mean we need to see the fencing master. Totally unnecessary for the story of the character. Where did Robin Hood learn to use a bow? Who cares? Batman Begins is very specifically the story of how Batman become Batman. So yes, it was a totally necessary part of the story. You can't have the "Begins" without the begins. The point of the movie is Bruce's personal journey to becoming Batman and how he did it. I'm so sorry that your idea of a proper manly man is someone who never needs guidance or help from someone else.
