Come to think of it the only ones that I remember seeing both I liked the originals better for example Psycho and Carrie

Smurf you need to check out the originals on these 3 immediately.

Each one is VASTLY superior to the remakes.

Cape Fear is better than the original imo but I agree that Evil Dead and Assault on Precinct 13 are vastly inferior to the originals. I actually think the fact that Nolte's character is morally questionable gives the movie a much needed edge. and with the exception of Mitchum the acting is far better in the remake. I also think the concept works better in a more campy style.
