Well, y’know, if you’d asked me several years ago, it’d be vampires too. Lots of fun stuff on them, including everything written by the paranormal-fancier’s favorite lunatic, the Rev. Montague Summers. Nowadays it’d be ghosts. There’s something about a particularly spooky ghost story that just doesn’t apply to the other, more material ghouls.
