So... less than a week away. In light of all the open-ended plot lines and alleged plot holes from TFA, it will be interesting to see how many Rian Johnson addresses and answers in TLJ. Most of us know of JJ Abrams reputation for "mystery box". So how many of his TFA plot threads will be genuine and how many will prove to be more of his dead end "mystery box" plot holes?
A checklist to review:
Who are Rey's parents?
Who are Finn's parents (or is he a clone)?
How did Maz get Luke Skywalker's lightsaber that was lost when his hand was chopped off in TESB?
How is Rey so powerful without any training that she can always defeat Kylo?
How is Kylo tempted by the Lightside (a concept previously not associated with the Lightside)?
How is Kylo "praying" to Vader to show him Darkness when he became a Lightside Force ghost after his death?
Who and what is Snoke?
Who are the Knights of Ren? Are they Force users? If they are then how is Kylo the greatest of them when he hasn't completed his training?
Did Han or Leia know Rey before meeting Rey in TFA? Did Luke?
How was Finn able to abandon his programming comparably easy?
What will Luke train Rey in that could be so important to someone already so powerful and able to beat Kylo?
Why was Rey left on Jakku? And with Unkar Plutt?
How much training did Kylo receive from Snoke and Luke Skywalker respectively?
What are the full reasons for Luke either leaving or going into hiding?
What happened to Luke's artificial robot hand? Why is all the artificial flesh gone?
Will Chewbacca ever get hugged again? Will he ever get a medal? Will he ever captain the Millennium Falcon?
It will be interesting to see how many of these fall off of the checklist after TLJ is released.
