I'm quite disappointed, maybe because I utterly dislike Ivar and The English are quite bland (the queen is the only one I like). Well, this new warrior bishop is something knew but also a bit to fanatic...and when it comes to religous nut-jobs: Flocki, oh Flocki...what has become of you. This pseudo-phliosopic/mystic stuff on Iceland is horrible. The only two charcaters I like and root for are Lagertha and Ubbe, and it is a comfort to know that Ubbe and Guthrum (the son of Jarl Borg, with Björn as Ersatz-father) will lead the great heathen army in the end, not fucking Ivar or this other brother. Ivar simply vanished in the historical records. It is not even kown what excactly happened to this psycho. And ths king Harald sucks too...I can undertand who woman are like - meh, please leave me alone. Bythis time, I'm more into "The last Kingdom" which plays a bit more in the future (adult Alfred) and there is no fucking mystic but better and more compelling stor telling. Most lickley due to the better source material. Anyway: the first three episode (or two) were often a drag, and this Ivar is nothing without the plot armour of the writers: all his ideas work - of course - perfectly out, nobody kills him even if he is alone facing 30 to 40 men. Lagertha and Ubbe are really the only two characters I like at this point, too. Of the English characters I don't mind Judith and Aethelwulf, and I do think Bishop Heahmund shows some promise, but we'll see what happens in the next few eps. I've watched some episodes of The Last Kingdom, but I wasn't that into it. I did love this scene, though.
