Bummer. I really liked the first one. I thought the truck scene in the first act was really well done...even the subtle look from the creeper as they drive by the farmhouse stands out as something creepy
I quite enjoyed the first one too...I think. I haven't watched it in quite long while, but I seem to recall thinking that it did a fairly decent job of creating some mild - moderate 'tension'/'atmosphere' in that it let certain scenes slowly build up. It
took it's time with certain scenes/moments, which I thought were quite effective (sometimes this works in horror-type movies, other times...not so much. Like, for example, just having a character wander around corridors aimlessly for a long time gets old after a while). But what I found particularly interesting was how the movie was able to create an 'unsettling' feeling when, in some instances, it was broad daylight.
Anyway, I think I didn't mind the brother and sister characters, and quite liked their dynamic. I think I particularly liked Gina Philips as Trish (though I'm sure others might not have). I was just relieved that at the end it was
her brother who was taken/had his eyes removed and not her.
I was wondering how she's featured in the third film. According to the Trivia section on the IMDB page for the movie, it's
only a cameo, but supposed to set up her character for any future movies - is that correct?
Anyway, I only really have any interest in finding out what happens with her (the sole reason I checked out the second film because an actress I liked from the TV series
Supernatural had a role in it).
