Hamill got very little publicity during the prequel years. It wasn't until they were starting to consider new movies that he came back on the media radar. He was mostly known for voiceover work through the 90s and 2000s. I dont remember anyone asking Harrison Ford what he thought about the prequels either. The OT trio are cinematic icons. Mark Hamill may have been doing mostly voiceover with the occasional TV/movie appearance, but he's been a steadily working actor the entire time. On top of all this, he also has been a regular through the decades at comic book and film conventions where he's been directly available to the fans/media. If he had said anything to defend George Lucas during this time, we would have heard about it. He didn't. In terms of Harrison Ford, he said he hadn't watched the PT and so couldn't comment on them (typical Ford haha).
