I have seen the theatrical cut several times, if anything more for the beautiful optical effects that permeate the last part with the souls\life-forces getting drained out of people. I have the extend version on blu ray, but haven't viewed yet.
Strange, bizarre and unusual presented fantasy\horror film, that could even be considered original. It is pretty uneven and mediocre overall though. Problem is, it doesn't have much gut wrenching terror\horror or tension\suspense that Hooper was known for in his earlier efforts like TCM, EATEN ALIVE, THE FUNHOUSE & POLTERGEIST. His EATEN ALIVE, is bizarre and Lynchian in style and full of atmosphere that LIFEFORCE appears to lack. I was surprisingly more intrigued and entertained by his INVADERS FROM MARS-86'.
