MWC was such a breath of fresh air when it first appeared after years of cuddly and insipid family sitcoms which were all the rage in the mid-80's. Absolutely subversive. Unfortunately, after a couple of good seasons it became very stale and formulaic, relying on the same half-dozen character jokes, e.g. Kelly's dumb, Al hates women (except hot ones), Bud jerks off all the time, etc. I am gravely disappointed with your evaluation of the later seasons. In season 9, they have unleashed their imagination in an awesome "Pump Fiction" episode. And season 11 shined with sexual roleplay and self-directed irony in "The Juggs". But FOX became selfish and canceled them. What a puny plan. |
