tpfkar I think people get the notion of preaching conflated with conversion. Most people are not converted, so clearly they are doing it for other reasons. Maybe it as something to do with their beliefs.... In a secular way, this is just direct marketing and advertising. It's almost like people can;t comprehend how sales work. EVERY ideology has a level of marketing and advocacy. Otherwise, it either is a secret society , which would usually not include a religion, or they don;t exist. It's weird that people think preaching is weird and especially since the Bible clearly says that Christianity involves a pretty high level of proselytizing with the primary difference being who does it amongst the various faiths. Sure, they're equally manipulative and deceptive. I would say that God wouldn't care one way or another as long as they are treated fairly...which is why there is instruction on it to begin with. The fact is that a slave could be an overseer in the congregation his master goes to because Scripture makes pretty clear that everyone has equal rights within the church if not in society.
