Do I think it's true? People have exchanged sex for football tickets and meals at McDonalds. No doubt they've exchanged it for roles, male and female alike. But it should be noted that this doesn't excuse persons in power using their position to sexually harass innocent people. And in McKellen's defense, he said basically the same thing. This^^^
Of course it's true.
People will do pretty much anything for fame.
