i see this all the time. they work under the table. they aren't on any official books. [how can you be when you are hot here legally?] so they get paid in cash. but to be honest, their problem is not that they don't have money, but they don't have money management. They spend what money they do have [and legally] on frivolous shit. the 60inch plasma TV's, the satellites, the shiny rims on the cars that they shouldn't have, all the Xboxes/whatever [they have all of them], ALL THE RATED M GAMES TO GO WITH SAID XBOXES/WHATEVER[!!]. They don't spend it on things like a healthy/cheap cooking class, and ESL class, daycare, clean clothes and linens, clothes that don't have nasty stuff on them [one year the same child wore a playboy shirt to school -- third grade and her mother was pissed off that i sent her to the office to call home for another shirt -- office agreed with me surprisingly]. heck, we once had these twins who kept on getting lice when i guarantee you the mother wasn't washing the linens or the stuffed toys/whatever.
and i absolutely adore the parents who come in reeking of booze and weed [late] and in fuzzy pajamas and slippers! love them to pieces.
