I don't think that IMDb is going to do anything new that will be important to me.
I don't see the message boards coming back. They will continue to point people to Facebook and Twitter.
Imo IMDb will try to make more money from professionals. But I'm not a professional in the movie/TV industry.
I only use IMDb about once a week to rate movies and TV series i've just seen. (I have almost 1000 ratings.)
Otherwise I don't go to that site.
