His interaction with the droids. R2 scene hit me unbelievably hard in the feels because it was one three-minute stretch where the meddling jagoffs Hamill attempted to warn about making a movie that would piss everyone off actually let Mark get the fuck away from Ridley and Driver and actually Be the Real Luke for the briefest of flashes. And the wink at Threepio. God damn, did Mark Hamill make chicken salad out of chicken shit with those moments. And the Luke/Leia scene. I almost expected (based on the rest of the movie) when Luke came through the door for Leia to say something like, "Aren't you a little short for a Jedi?" Something atrocious like that. The scene between the two of them did feel like Star Wars. |
