Marvel studios also practices these “comic gymnastics” of combining 616 with Ultimate in regards to the Avengers and Spider-Man. As for the older films X2 was the very first Marvel film to that. This is possibly due to Kevin Feige’s influence.

Its when the studio started to muddle with the projects is when we get massive shifts from the comics. In the case of X3, Origins, and possibly Apocalypse. In Apocalypse Wolverine was originally going to be the leader of the X-Men at the end of the film. There are mentionings of rewrites happening during filming which would probably explain why Wolverine is in and out of the movie.

The MCU movies are mostly faithful to the source material with a few things tweaked here and there to make them different. The Fox movies are mostly completely different from the source material, with a few things tweaked here and there to make them similar to the source material.

Do you see the difference? Even now you're bending over backward trying to make connections just to convince me that they had some similarities the source material. Just the fact that you're having such a hard time finding connections already show how dissimilar it is from the source.
