Just because emoboys want SERIOUS, I remember lots of wisecracks in the comics.
There are good doses of wise cracks/jokes in Foxs xmen films which follow the correct tone from the comics. They arent complete wet blankets like Man of steel or BvS. Problem with MCU flicks is the jokes are
1) kiddy in nature
No.
MCU jokes are typical of Marvel comics.
I have 3 footlocker type trunks full of mostly Marvel comics from the 60s thru the 80s. A trunk holds 2 of those comic box sleeves.
2) demean the character of villains
I have seen many DC villains demeaned.
Hell, X-Men comics from the 60s had fairly simple villains.
I have what might be Loki's first appearance & there is no mention of being related to Thor.
3) take place during serious moments
I made a few jokes the week I found my husband dead.
It's not uncommon.
4) Too many forced jokes which are cringe
Name some.
