No ones disputing that MCU make throwaway "fun, enjoyable films". Its when MCU fanatics then claim they are better films than Xmen, Nolans trilogy, Raimis spidermans then its a problem. These films are better FILMS because they take more care of the non flashy stuff as you highlighted the "jokes and CGI". Its like comparing Blade Runner 2049 to Star Wars Last Jedi. One is a compelling, thought provoking sci fi flick, the other a dumb, CGI joke filled popcorn piece. I really dont see your issue here, we agree on the same premise.

Eh, the new BR had plenty of problems to it. Like being too dependent on the first film, for one thing.

Eh, actually BR was the film best of the year. Possibly of the decade.
