Can someome tell me the sense of Björn's trip except for some human spare ribs?
The exotic woman? The "dramatic" Cliffhanger? To have something to do for Björn till he is needed?
Well, he seems to return and thus bring a lot of man power with him. Maybe even Floki returns - or those who follwed him with the idea what a great ruler Legartha actually is: not a trickster like Flocki, but one who thinks in the long term => conversation between the young woman and the warrior which was also overheard but other major warrior not without interest.
So Harald and Ivar might not even be the ones who are suprised, but the also meet a far larger force. Maybe this is how Ivar vasnishes from the show, and Ubbe and Guthrum (=> The Jarls of Sweden will also join Lagertha through Guthrum) take over the lead of the great Heathen army as know by the historical records.
Nice to see the loyalty of Astrid.
As for this Bishop and Halfdan...maybe they are the two deciding factors: will Harald really meet his brother in battle as once Ragnar and Rollo, and will it emotionally cripple the losing one?
And will the Bishop really stand to his word, or will he the one who make the deadly strike against Ivar?
