"Hilarious" is kinda christian's catchphrase. Everything is "hilarious" to him - everything except Philly's repeated failings. I guess it comes down to what one interprets as failure. I completely get the thought process of - if you didn't win the big one you failed. i.e. the Phils in 2009, 2010, 2011 after winning the WS in 2008. Everybody (not just Philly) thought they were going to be the Yankees of the National League. I remember Cole Hamels at the WS Parade getting the crowd in a frenzy stating they were going to do it 'over and over again' - and everybody - not just locally but nationwide agreed. They were a dominant team. The Giants and Cardinals showed them anything can happen in the playoffs. That to me is a failure - those Phils teams who should have won multiple WS Rings. This years Birds? This is gravy. They go one and done - I don't consider it a failure - all because Wentz went down. Wentz has pretty much achieved 'Jesus' status here already where people bow to him like Iverson, Embiid, Cole Hamels, Bernie Parent, Tommy McDonald, and cheesesteaks ............. I look at the next few weeks as 'fun' - what happens happens - your franchise QB is gone for the year. Gravy. Make the best of it I'm not just talking about this year's Eagles but rather their entire history in the Super Bowl era. You said yourself that you consider the post-08 Phillies a failure - wouldn't you consider the history of the Eagles, overall, a series of failings? I get that they've made it to 5 NFC title games in the last 20 years, and yet in losing all but 1 of them, and furthermore losing in the Big game every time they've made it there (a piddling twice in the Super Bowl era), wouldn't you say you've expected more overall?
