Finn, like Rey, defy their upbringing by their behaviors. Finn was a brainwashed soldier, suddenly he's a bumbling, nervous, murdering, wise cracking, never better than Rey-sidekick. Rey is genuine and honest despite the only human behavior she's exposed to being dishonesty and selfishness. But whatever. Let's forgive that, and let's forgive the unbelievable and ridiculous dialogue and instead deflect.
He did not become endeared to us, he became idiotic. Why is the alternative that they immediately start making out? Are you referencing Padme and Anakin? Didn't it take actual years before that happened?
