First we have to beat the Jags-- and say what you want, if they can manhandle the Steelers that way, they can play with anyone. Very true. I'm seeing a lot of people say "if Ben can put up 42 points on the Jaguars, then just think what Brady will do." Thing is, it's never that simple. The Falcons gave up more points to the apparently rudderless Eagles offense than they did the high-powered Rams. The Dolphins get shut out by the Saints in London but beat the Patriots in Miami. The Rodgers-less Packers can get shut out by the Ravens at home and then go into Pittsburgh the following week and put up 28 points. It rarely works out the way you'd expect and the NFL doesn't really follow some simple formula like "Player A is better than Player B and Player B put up x points on Team C, so player A will put up even more points against Team C." I'm actually sure that the Patriots won't score 42 points next week. Agreed. Saying "if Ben can put up 42 points on the Jaguars, then just think what Brady will do" is as stupid as saying if Brady can put up 38 points against the Giants' defense on the Giants' home field, just think what Brady can do against the Giants' defense on a neutral field in Super Bowl XLII".
Plaxico Burress: "23-17, Giants".
Brady: "Ha Ha Ha! He's only giving us 17 points? Ha Ha Ha. We're going to put up 42 points."
Actual score: Giants 17, Patriots 14.
