And the priest tells him that he has to do like 3 Hail Mary's and 3 Lord's Prayer and then he is off the hook or forgiven or whatever.
It hits me right away at how everything, from thinking that one does something wrong through sin to the penance doled out is all just made up by humans.
I mean, first of all the kid didn't sin. It's just a bunch of guilt tripping bullshit and then the penance is created to make him feel better.
Just a bunch of bullshit made up entirely by humans to somehow make themselves feel bad then better all from a book of a bunch of made up stories by other humans.
Religion is bogus.
The Catholic church quickly became so much a money-making business, coupled with its odd under-the-rug treatment of paedophilia and other scandals, it's a wonder its survived as strong as it is to this day.
