About $850 a few years ago when the Mrs. and I went to Eleven Madison Park for the tasting menu. What did you eat and was it worth it? It was a combination tasting and alcohol pairing. It was about 15 total dishes. There was seared pork belly, crab claws, an umami-bombed tomato thing (that I'm not doing justice by describing it - this was seriously one of the finest things I've ever tasted), and a slew of other really unique dishes ranging from fish, soups, vegetable concoctions and brilliant deserts. If you've ever done a tasting menu, this was definitely a fantastic one. The alcohol pairing was divine as well. There was sake, wine, beer, grappa...every dish had its own pairing. Was it worth it? I can't say it was the "best" meal we've ever had, but it was certainly an experience that we'll never forget. Just some of the finest, most meticulously constructed dishes either of us has ever had. |
