The Patriots have won two Super Bowls since your last one, I don't know where you're going with that argument. Tom Brady owns the Steelers, the Patriots steamrolled the Steelers last year in the playoffs (again), and your team was so anxious to lose to them again that they forgot to show up against Jacksonville. Get back to me when the Patriots start mouthing off to the media about games that haven't been played yet.
What success did the Steelers have between 1980 and 2006? One Super Bowl appearance. The Patriots went to the Super Bowl twice before Belichick and Brady even got here. Your team had one period of sustained success forty years ago while the Patriots are in the midst of a dynasty in an era where it's supposed to be impossible to do. Jimmy Garoppolo has as many rings as Rapistberger. No quarterback has as many Super Bowl rings as Brady. The Patriots have more Super Bowl appearances than the Steelers do. The Patriots have now gone to seven consecutive AFC championship games while your players are tweeting about rematches for games they've lost and can't wait to lose again. But, I digress...
Yeah, steroids. And Spygate and Deflategate and dumpster diving for playbooks and warm Gatorade and whatever else the haters can come up with to make themselves feel better. Sometimes the other team is just better. The only thing worse than losing would be making up excuses for it; so glad I'm not that guy.
Once again, live in the moment - - your franchise was a joke before Brady, and it will be a joke after Brady as well. And then the Chowds will go back to putting the Patriots as their fourth favorite team, which is what they were until they won anything.
Because the league is set up to punish success. Parity. How many teams have even gone to multiple Super Bowls this century? The Patriots have won 5. But yeah, it was much harder to win in the 1970s where no free agency meant you could hold onto your dominant team and not have to worry about players bolting.
And you're right, Belichick hasn't been great in the draft, good thing he can coach up players like Malcolm Butler to the point where they make Super Bowl saving plays. If Tomlin was worth a shit, his players wouldn't be on facebook in the locker room and tweeting about who they're going to lose to next before the game.
Oh, and the Patriots home sellout streak started in 1994, is that far enough before they won anything for you or are you still going to play the bandwagon card?
Once again, live in the past. Your franchise was a joke between 1980 and 2006 and it's a joke now. As for me, I'm focused on Jacksonville. Too bad your players (and coaches) weren't.
