In fact for the age-rating regulators in countries the color of blood actually makes a great difference, when the blood-color looks fake ("stage blood") they are way more lenient. I do not even know what their opinion on blue blood is.

Apart from this, having an implied smashed head (you do not see it) is completely different from the sadistic mayham of a protagonist slowly making a coin penetrate the antagonist's head and seeing it exit again, (red) CGI blood included.

One is traumatically memorable, the other one not so much. Luke Skywalker drinking and spitting green milk was more traumatic for me than the latter...
