Makeup is a key to success. If TDK or now WW and Logan could not find their ways into the big (major) Oscar categories, I doubt CBMs will ever do that. Thus, the lower technical category is all we get at the Oscars (which may be for the better anyway).
That being said Logan's nom is still semi-major, un-technical in my book, and the best compliment I can make is that I would have never guessed that this film is Marvel. Respect, especially if it wins.
