Definitely agree on New Nightmare. Always been my favorite. It's even Robert Englund's favorite of the series. Which of my list would be the same as your's or different? My differences are: Friday the 13th. I've got to go Part 3 (Jason unmasked in the top floor of the barn, back when he still ran, was the most horrifying part of the saga for me). My silver medal goes to "Jason X" which was (like "New Nightmare") so self-aware you couldn't help but have fun with it. I also think that "Alien 3" is right up there with the original in terms of existential horror. Ripley cannot escape this thing and her character succumbs to this in part 3. It drives the 'infection' plot to its inevitable end. I LOVE the first three installments (nearly equally), but "Aliens" made a mysterious creature into a 'bug' to me. Don't get me wrong, I can probably recite the entire movie because I love it so much, but I thought "3" was infinitely more interesting (particularly the Assembly Cut). Other than that, I'm pretty much right in line with your list. Maybe just a shout out to "Annabelle: Creation" which was way better than I expected it to be...if it falls in line with "The Conjuring" series. A couple of crumbs: I think "Puppet Master 2" is a lot of fun...as is "Final Destination 3."
