I saw three C.B. DeMille movies yesterday The Buccaneer (1938) was by far the best...Akim Tamiroff was very impressive in that movie. Lots of fun there.. and the other two, Kijii? Akim always a treat. He does the same the following year in DeMille's UNION PACIFIC. The three I saw yesterday were: 1) Madam Satan (1930) - absolutely terrible........ 2) The Buccaneer (1938) - absolutely great with richly drawn characters. I found March's French accent a bit off-putting at first but soon acclimated to it and got into his great character performance. Do you remember The Buccaneer (1938)--as a movie--appearing in another movie? 3) Reap the Wild Wind (1942) beautifully filmed (like eye candy) with a good story and great stars: Ray Milland, John Wayne, Paulette Goddard, Raymond Massey, Robert Preston, Susan Hayward, and (behind a red beard) Charles Bickford. Hedda Hopper was also in it, but missed her on first viewing. Wow, this movie had almost as many well-known actor as The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) or The Ten Commandments (1956).
