And how can you possibly root for this smirking psycho Ivar? Even Wuff Wuff and Heahmund have regrets or even defected him.
The only good scenen when Ivar saw Heahmund...Nobody, really nobody love you Ivar. (except for your fan-boys).
Ivar: "Come, fight me!" - the wind? Well, how's about joining the fight?! This guys is only talk the talk, never walk the walk. Everbody else was fighting and suffering. Harald lost his brother, his love and wife, and his heir.
And - of course - no arrow can hit Ivar, but all all his men fall lies flies.

I have never understood why he sided with Harald and Ivar, when his relation were so much closer to Björn and Lagertha.
And a war will also cost Frankia a lot of gold and men; how do you explain it to the emporer, the nobility, and also to the smallfolk?
Explain the many, to quote the High Sparrow,* why they have to pay taxes and lose their sons for nothing at the end of the world?!
There is a reason why Frankia never went for a Scandinavian campaign. Spain is still occupied by Muslim powers which have several times tried to invade farther North.

This show is purely fuctional now, and it is it in the worst possible way. When Lost and Battlestar Galactica also started to focus more and more onto this pseudo-religious crap (Jacob, the final fiv etc. pp.), it all knew only one direction: downhill.
