Yeah they're totally different from the games, no doubt. I enjoy them for what they are, though. After Apocalypse, the movies have already established themselves as their own thing. I look forward to the rebooted series as there's a ton of good material from the games that got changed or omitted. I'd like to see them take the same approach as the earlier games did, focusing on the atmosphere and suspense. As blasphemous as this sounds, I never actually played any of the games, but I am also hoping for a straight-up horror film in the RE movie franchise so it can blow all the others out of the water lol. |
