well, you don't pay them the managers do. obeying the manager is the first priority in keeping a job. i have lost a couple of jobs because i didn't obey the manager/whomever when i was doing an otherwise noble or morally right thing. live and learn. unfortunately, people's respect doesn't pay bills.
