The movie should have been more "Prometheus" and less "Alien" instead of a combo of both. Nope. We already had Prometheus. What we needed was more Alien and less zzzzzzz, But that's the problem. Yeah, we got "Alien", but the "Alien" stuff wasn't anything new which hence leads to the "zzzzz". It's like the movie was just going through an "Alien" checklist. You want facehuggers? Check. You want chestbursters? Check. You want the xenomorph picking off people? Check. We've seen all this stuff done before and done better. Even though all these things are the ingredients of an "Alien" film, there's nothing exciting or special being done with them. How many times can you show the same stuff over and over before it becomes tiresome and formulaic? You'd figure a film like this would be Scott's opportunity to do something new or innovative here instead of just going over familiar territory. |
