It is absolutely a stretch of the imagination given what comes before and the universe the movie is set in. She is the first example of someone good at everything despite her situation suggesting she should not only be socially ill-developed, but also malnourished and less capable.

He moves just fine, he bests Rey, toying with her, she is defeated until she downloads the force, and suddenly she knows how to attack with the weapon she's never used before.
