Artificially boosted by a major actor dying, which the film exploited, and also TDK came out in a time when CBMs weren't as mainstream as they are now so it was able to gain a foothold before proper competition came out. Plus Nolan inspires deranged fans, but thankfully BvS kicked their feet out from under them. Lol bvs did Jack shit. It shut up the Nolanites who thought DC could do no wrong, for one thing. Another TDK will never happen, now that people know they have a valid alternative to DC. They didn't have that back in 2008. |
