I don’t hate Anatomy of a Murder or Advise and Consent, but I’m not especially a fan of them either. I do hold that Laura is Preminger’s only lasting masterpiece; on the whole, his work just leaves me cold (which may be part of the point, as Sarris argued, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it).
