De-Lovely (2004) Kevin Kline, Ashley Judd, Jonathan Pryce
Bio of Cole Porter....with a difference. Porter is in Limbo/Purgatory on his way to Heaven/Hell and whilst waiting he reviews his life and especially his relationship with Linda, his wife. He was gay but their regard and affection for one another transcended sex.
Lots of stars and songs and some fine acting by Kline, Judd and Pryce as the escorting angel.
There was an earlier bio (1946) with Cary Grant but that was a sanitized Hollywood version. This one pulls no punches and is all the better for allowing us to understand what he suffered both physically and emotionally, while composing some of the great songs of the last century.
Well worth a look.
