Best Director of the past 25 Years?

When I watch a movie, I usually don't pay attention to who the director is. I go to the movie because a favorite actor is in it, or I've heard about the plot and really want to see the movie. So, if I notice who directed it then its a director whose work I've been really impressed with. My favorite directors are Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and David Cronenberg. As far as I'm concerned DC is the best director in the past 25 years. His movies that come to mind include, The Dead Zone, Dead Ringers, A history of violence, eastern promises, and a dangerous method,  The characters in his movies have depth and the movies are multi-layered.  A prime example of this for me is eastern promises.
