Lex Luthor establishes the team to control the entire globe. Lex promises the villain would have control of specific parts of the globe while Lex Luthor would be above them, like a pyramid. Joker was uninvited but he invites himself. The team doesn’t know that Lex Luthor is secretly working with Darkseid. He was able to somehow telepathically communicate with him, so they made a deal. Darkseid wants Superman in exchange for total control of Earth. The teams task is to take down the Justice League with a plan to lure Superman out and distract the team until the second invasion comes. If the team can weaken the JL by the time Darkseid arrives, Darkseid can take him and make him his pawn while most of the JL would be dead or scattered off, defeated either way. Green Lantern will play a major major role in this film. Tower of Babel partial story arc can begin here and expand in JL 3 (Crime Syndicate/multiverse). JL 4 will be the final film with Darkseid.
