I do not "get" the appeal of reality TV. I didn't get it as a kid when there was mainly just Survivor, Fear Factor and American Idol, and I don't get how it has multiplied into a cluster%&*@@$*(@$. Yes yes yes, as anybody who was on the old board knows, I will admit we bought into the Honey Boo Boo spectacle, the ONE reality TV family that actually seemed halfway NORMAL (for rednecks anyway) compared to the boring and lifeless 19 Kids, yes I'm aware of the irony there, or Jon and Kate + 8, but compared to all those 'picture perfect' families that you knew were just %&@)@$$%&, that one for a while seemed like a breath of fresh air, that they were just so crazy, it *had* to be real. Once again, yes I'm aware of the irony. The only reality TV I watch these days is America's Got Talent and TLC's shows about obese people losing weight. What is the appeal of The Bachelor or Big Brother?, or an abusive land whale berating children and their moms just stand there and let her verbally abuse their daughters for not dancing good enough?, or on TLC, all those stupid polygamy shows?, Chrisley on USA, and now Hallmark's getting a series about the family of the woman who played Hoffs on 21 Jump Street, what exactly is the %&!)$@&U( appeal here?
