The movie wasn't as hyped up by Williams' passing, the series was never seen as anything but goofy fun and his death wasn't exploited. TDK was hyped up well before Heath Ledger’s passing. His death was never exploited either. Quite the opposite actually. After Heath Ledger died, the marketing actually began focusing less on Heath Ledger. To be blunt, if anyone is exploiting his death, it’s you. You’re using his death as a scapegoat to justify the fact that people love a movie you don’t like. It wouldn't be so bad if TDK wasn't treated like some end-all-be-all of cinema and people didn't ignore the films flaws because it would be "bad taste" to bring them up.
