TDK was hyped up well before Heath Ledger’s passing. His death was never exploited either. Quite the opposite actually. After Heath Ledger died, the marketing actually began focusing less on Heath Ledger. To be blunt, if anyone is exploiting his death, it’s you. You’re using his death as a scapegoat to justify the fact that people love a movie you don’t like. It wouldn't be so bad if TDK wasn't treated like some end-all-be-all of cinema and people didn't ignore the films flaws because it would be "bad taste" to bring them up. I’m tired of telling you this but again, I must bring up that Heath Ledger has been dead for 10 years, and the movie still gets praised to this day. The movie gets praised because people think it’s a great movie, not because Heath Ledger died. Stop clinging to that excuse, especially when there actually were a fair amount of critics back in the day who bashed the movie for being too dark.
