The point of comparison you cited didn’t involve a plane that was full of highly flammable gas. The highly flammable gas isn't going to go highly flammable until something ignites it. Splash some fuel on a wing, set it on fire ... that should give you a couple minutes to get clear of the explosion when the fire reaches the bombs. Still confused? ... or are we good?
