Because I have to tell you, a quick study of the geomorphology of the Giza plateau shows that the Ancient Egyptians had a great understanding of geology, and placed their pyramids accordingly...
Of course, if they actually just built them on a magical star alignment, which happens to coincide with placing them so they don't sink in to the desert, I am all ears.
