Happy 93rd Birthday Hal Holbrook !!!  Born on February 17, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio Thanks for everything, so far... He first received critical acclaim in 1954 for a one-man stage show he developed while studying at Denison University, performing as Mark Twain.  One of the great American character actors. Hal Holbrook has acted in over 130 movies and television productions, winning Emmy's for The Bold Ones: The Senator 1971, Pueblo 1973, Lincoln 1974 and Portrait of America 1989, he also got an Actor of the Year - Special Emmy for Pueblo 1973.  Making his movie debut in Sidney Lumet's The Group 1966, seen here with Shirley Knight. Magnum Force 1973, since Clint Eastwood was the hero, you'll know who will loose this battle.  As Deap Throat in All the President's Men 1976 Capricorn One 1977 The Fog 1980  With Charlie Sheen in Wall Street 1987  With Emile Hirsch in Into the Wild 2007, strangely the only time Hal Holbrook as been Oscar nominated.  The touring one man show, somewhere at a theatre near you, as Mark Twain.  As Abraham Lincoln in TV Mini-Series North and South and North and South, Book II 1985 - 1986.
