I never got the impression that the movie was supposed to be particularly “grounded”. Are you forgetting that the movie had Greek Gods as part of its setting? The Gods who only appear in flashbacks and stories, and we only ever meet one (who is defeated rather quickly and easily)? Yeah, it's DC still unable to commit to being non-grounded. Apart from the Gods, there’s also the fact that the Amazons are at least thousands of years old, and live on a magical island. Does that strike you as “grounded”? |
