The Gods who only appear in flashbacks and stories, and we only ever meet one (who is defeated rather quickly and easily)? Yeah, it's DC still unable to commit to being non-grounded. Apart from the Gods, there’s also the fact that the Amazons are at least thousands of years old, and live on a magical island. Does that strike you as “grounded”? You wouldn't know they were thousands of years old, seeing how naive Diana acts. It's lip service. And nothing on Themyscira comes off as magical. |
